This policy explains how Tighten Up Your Locs handles information through this website. For privacy questions, contact Shay at hello@tightenupyourlocs.com.

Information you choose to send

When you submit an appointment request, the booking form sends your name, email address, service selection and preferred time, along with any phone number or message you provide. These details are used to review your request, contact you and manage your appointment. The separate Contact form is described below. Visiting the site alone does not submit either form. Please do not include payment details or sensitive medical information.

Request handling and service providers

Requests and appointment records are handled in Tighten Up Your Locs’ own booking system and database. Shay manages them through this website’s private admin. Hosting and email providers support storage and appointment-related communication. Submitting a request does not enroll you in promotional messages. Request references, appointment status and related communications help us respond and manage scheduling.

The private admin uses necessary session cookies for secure sign-in. These are separate from public website measurement; private admin pages do not load Analytics.

Optional appointment texts

The booking form offers a separate, unchecked choice for appointment texts. If you select it and provide a phone number, the site records your choice, the disclosure version, and the request it came with. A phone number alone, the booking contact checkbox, or a newsletter choice does not opt you in. Texts are limited to appointment updates and reminders for confirmed website appointments when business texting is enabled; Booksy appointments remain separate. A request alone does not trigger a reminder. Shay can pause texting or stop texts to a number without cancelling its appointments. To withdraw your text choice or ask about it, contact Shay at hello@tightenupyourlocs.com. If texting is enabled, its provider and mobile carrier process the number and message for delivery. Message and data rates may apply. Texting is not used for the Locs Letter or promotions.

Contact questions

The Contact form saves the name, email address, subject and message you submit in this website’s private system. It queues an email notice to the recipient Shay has selected in her owner settings; that recipient may change for future messages. Shay can read the message in her private inbox and reply to the email address you provided. A Contact message is separate from an appointment request and does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Hosting and email providers process the information needed to store and deliver it. A saved message or mail-service acceptance does not guarantee that an email reached an inbox.

The Locs Letter

The newsletter is optional and separate from booking. If you choose to sign up, we use your email address to send a confirmation request. You must confirm before receiving The Locs Letter, which may include loc-care notes, opening announcements and business updates. Subscription and consent records are stored in Tighten Up Your Locs’ own system; email providers help deliver the messages. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or contact Shay for help. Newsletter form contents are not sent to Analytics.

Optional owner Google Calendar connection

If Shay connects Google Calendar in the private booking desk, the system reads her calendar list and busy time intervals from the calendars she selects to help check appointment availability. It stores calendar identifiers and names, a cached set of busy intervals, and encrypted app credentials and authorization tokens in the business’s own system. This connection does not read event titles, descriptions or attendees, and it does not create or change Google events. Google Calendar data is not used for advertising or sent to website Analytics.

Shay can change the selected calendars, refresh availability or disconnect in the booking desk. A successful disconnect revokes Google access and removes the active authorization tokens and calendar cache; if Google cannot confirm revocation, the connection is retained so she can retry. App credentials can be removed separately after disconnection. Private backups may retain earlier data for recovery; disconnecting does not erase those backups immediately. Access can also be managed in the connected Google account’s permissions.

Website measurement and technical data

The homepage and booking page use Google Analytics to measure page views and request actions. Analytics and advertising cookie storage are disabled; basic measurements may still be sent to Google without those cookies. The implementation does not send form contents to Analytics and removes page query strings, fragments and referrer values from its configured event parameters. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled.

Previously saved tracking refusals, browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals prevent the Analytics tag from loading. Existing Analytics cookies from the earlier implementation are removed when the updated homepage or booking page loads. Browser extensions may also block measurement.

Hosting and security systems process technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the website and limit abusive requests. The site also requests fonts from Google Fonts. These third-party services receive connection information needed to provide their services; see Google’s Privacy Policy.

Stored records and your choices

Contact messages, appointment requests and appointment records are stored for replies, scheduling, follow-up and business recordkeeping; they are not automatically erased when you close the page. Contact Shay to ask about stored information or request a correction or deletion. Handling a request may require verifying that it relates to you and considering records that must be retained for business or legal obligations. No fixed deletion deadline is promised by this website.
